Tender Notice and Invitation to Tender

The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) has appointed the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, to establish the DHET New Universities Project Management Team to assist with the planning and first phase implementation of the new Sol Plaatje University in the Kimberley municipal area. The DHET New University's Project Management Team invites tenders for framework contracts over a period of two years for the supply, delivery and installation of:

  • P228b - Residence Furniture

The University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, will enter into a contract with the successful tenderers. The Sol Plaatje University may make use of this framework agreement and issue Batch Orders for items falling within the scope of the contracts that are entered into.

Only tenderers who can demonstrate that they possess suitable capacity to deliver within a short period of time, respond to the local content requirements and can provide samples within 7 days of notification are eligible to submit tenders.

Documents may be downloaded from the New University's website, www.newuniversities.ac.za from 10:00 on Tuesday 21 July 2015 onwards.

The closing time for receipt of tenders is 12:00 hrs on Tuesday 11th August 2015. Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, facsimile, e-mail and late tenders will not be accepted. Tenders may only be submitted on the tender documentation that is issued.

Requirements for sealing, addressing, delivery, opening and assessment of tenders are stated in the Tender Data.

Tenderers are invited to access the New Universities website at www.newuniversities.ac.za in order to download the tender documents. Tenderers will be required to login first, in order to see the tender notices. If the tenderer is not yet registered on the website, then they are required to register in order to login.
